Founder Claudia McMullin found herself the owner of a coffee shop one day and named it after her beloved rescue dog Hugo, an American Bulldog/hound mix. Through the Hugo Coffee Roasters Dog Rescue Mission, the purveyor aims to donate 10% of profits quarterly to dog rescue organizations.
Additionally, McMullin underwrites the local NPR station’s “Adoptable Moment,” which benefits Paws for Life, resulting in at least one dog or cat option each week the segment is aired.
