This post is sponsored by GlampingHub.com and we were guests of Finca Les Coves.
Finca Les Coves offers eco-friendly and pet-friendly glamping in Spain. The luxury accommodation is located in Jijona near Alicante in the Valencia department. The property sits on a large piece of land surrounded by mountains and offers several pet-friendly luxury glamping options.
The property uses solar energy to power the accommodations and the swimming pool is purified with salt, as opposed to chlorine. The owners encourage reduced water usage and each accommodation comes with well-labeled bins for separating trash and recycling.
Dogs are more than welcome at Finca Les Coves. The owners and staff have four sweet dogs among them (plus two social pigs), and we were able to just let Riia and Laila off leash to run around while we socialized or ate dinner.
With its proximity to trails, the coast, and nature, the active traveler will have no trouble filling their days with outdoor adventure.

The Accommodations at Finca Les Coves
We stayed in the eco-friendly Caracol vacation rental, a beautiful and spacious property with three bedrooms, one bathroom, and two large terraces. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped for cooking meals at home. The property is powered by solar panels and a large basin provides natural spring water.

We took full advantage of the patio, which includes several seating areas, a dining table, and a hammock. The rooftop deck was perfect for sipping wine and admiring the view of the surrounding mountains.

My favorite part was the tree swing attached to a beautiful old tree.
During certain times of the year, a large, fenced in area complete with reservoir (when there has been some rain!) makes the perfect private dog park. There was very little water during our visit at the beginning of September, but I can see how a dog would have a great time exploring!
There is no WiFi in the house, however mobile signal is great and there is Internet at the communal area.

Dining at Finca Les Coves
A short walk from the rental home will lead you to the communal swimming pool, bar, and dining area. The staff cooks three-course vegetarian meals twice per week, with happy hour beforehand. We were lucky to visit on one such evening and treated to a lovely meal, adapted to our vegan diet.

Much of the food for the meals comes from the on-site vegetable gardens and fruit trees (which make killer smoothies!).

The best part perhaps, were all the dogs running around playing. We could enjoy our meal while Laila made friends with the resident and visiting dogs.
What to Do at Finca Les Coves

Hiking
The owners have marked two different hiking trails surrounding the property. I took Riia for a run along the blue trail one morning and enjoyed the scenic vistas and not having to think about where I was going or look at my map every five seconds.
A few other country homes are scattered around the area, but for the most part, the vicinity is quiet with few residents and little traffic. Most homes are connected by dirt roads. It was a wonderful place to run.
Swim at El Salt
A short drive from the property leads to El Salt, a swimming hole below a 20m waterfall, which would feel divine on a hot summer day. We actually had some rain during our visit, so opted not to go. Jijona is a very small town, and we were told the spot is rarely crowded with visitors.

Yoga Retreats
Throughout the year, Finca Les Coves hosts retreats that include yoga, meditation, workshops, energy sessions, and moon ceremonies. They are accompanied by delicious vegan meals, nature hikes, and quiet time to reconnect with your true self.
Hit the Beach
A half hour drive brings you to the coast. Dogs are not allowed on beaches during the busy summer months, however most welcome dogs the remainder of the year. The beach at El Campello does have a section that allows dogs.
At the beach, you can rent kayaks or paddle boards and explore the turquoise blue waters with your pup.
