Disclaimer: Diggs sent me a Revol Dog Crate and a Snooz Pad to test and write an honest review on my blog. My opinions are my own and I think this crate rules. This post contains affiliate links.

The Diggs Revol Dog Crate is a product that both you and your dog will actually want to use and display in your home. Wire crates are unattractive and look too much like a jail cell. They’re uninviting and many dog owners don’t crate train based on looks alone.

Diggs designs products for both human and pet, which means that they set their standards high. The only pet brand to base standards off of the baby industry, Diggs uses high quality materials and an ergonomic design to make a better dog crate.

The Diggs Revol Dog Crate stands out above other collapsible dogs crates on the market and I’m excited to tell you why in this post.

Who is the Diggs Revol Dog Crate for?

If you are looking for an attractive dog crate that is easy to clean, break down, that you can easily bring along on trips, then you’ll genuinely love the Diggs Revol Dog Crate.

The intelligent design makes it the best collapsible dog crate for home and travel, thanks to easy break down and comfortable carrying handles that don’t require awkward and painful movements to lug around like traditional wire crates.

I love the multiple entry points on all sides, especially the garage-style side door that I can leave open so my dog can come and go as he pleases.

The Snooz Pad (purchased separately) is one of the most comfortable dog beds I’ve ever seen and I am happy knowing that his joints are comfortable thanks to the orthopedic design.

If you hate the look of typical wire dog crates, the Diggs Revol Dog Crate will change the way you think of kennels. The 1000+ five-star reviews on their site speak for themselves.

My dog runs to his crate with excitement every time I give the command. I fully believe that with the right training, yours will, too!

Size and Weight Specs

The Revol Dog Crate comes in two different sizes: small and medium. Large is coming soon!

I use the medium size for Sitka, who weighs 42lbs. He has plenty of room to curl up, lie on his side, and stand up and turn around.

The medium is quite large, but still completely manageable on my own. I have mine placed next to the couch in the living room and it blends in quite nicely with the feel of the room.

The Diggs Revol Dog Crate folds down flat and includes wheels and handles for easy transportation.

The Ideal Collapsible Dog Crate for Travel

Thanks to its ability to fold down into a relatively compact size, the Diggs Revol dog crate is a game changer if you travel regularly with your dog.

In fact, I’ve added it to my list of essential items I bring along when I travel with my dog.

I regularly crate Sitka at home, and love the option of being able to do so when we’re on the road, whether we’re staying with a friend or family or at a hotel.

The Revol crate gives me the option to continue to crate Sitka on the road.

Further, I find peace if I have to leave him alone at a destination knowing he will stay safe and not get into any trouble while I’m out for a few hours.

In the past, I would leave Sitka in the car, even if I just ran to a coffee shop, however that isn’t feasible in the summer.

One important note is that the Diggs Revol crate is not rated for car safety, so I would not advise using it as a car travel crate if you are specifically looking for something that offers protection in a crash.

While the crate is on the heavier side, the wheels allow you to roll it to your car, and a comfortable carrying handle lets you easily carry it and lift it up and into your car.

This is far easier than fumbling with my wire MidWest crate. I have to either squish my fingers into the wire slots, which hurts, or awkwardly carry it with my arms spanning across the narrowest width while the crate is in my face.

Great for Puppies

If you have a puppy, the Diggs Revol Crate is designed to easily accommodate puppies thanks to a few thoughtful features.

Divider

Each Revol Dog Crate includes a puppy divider that allows you to gradually increase the internal size of the crate as your puppy grows.

Ceiling Hatch

A ceiling hatch allows you to open the crate to easily offer your puppy a treat or provide a bowl of food and water without risk of your dog fleeing from the crate the second you open the door.

Removable Cleaning Tray

The sliding tray is a dog owner’s dream. Truly. It slides out easily for cleaning and slides back in just as fluidly.

Whether you have a dog or a puppy, they’re likely to make a mess at some point, whether from eating their food, enjoying a treat, or having an accident. The tray makes cleaning a breeze.

One-Year Warranty

Diggs offers free shipping and returns, as well as a 30-day trial as long as you keep the original packaging materials. The crate also comes with a one-year warranty, which seems to be pretty standard for similar brands.

The Diggs Revol Dog Crate features a garage-door style opening that allows your dog to come and go as they please.

Favorite Features

A few notable features are what make the Diggs Revol Dog Crate stand out above the rest. These smart characteristics give the crate more versatility and make it stand out against other dog crates.

Multiple Entry Points

One of the best features of the Diggs Revol Dog crate are the multiple entry points. I’ve discussed the ceiling hatch, which is ideal for puppies and for crate training new dogs.

In addition to the traditional swing door, the Revol Dog Crate also features a garage-door style side entry. I love this option for just hanging out. Sitka can choose to go into his crate when he wants and I don’t have to worry about running into an open door.

The garage door is also a great tool for introducing the crate to a dog because it allows the dog a choice to come and go as they become accustomed to the new space.

Easy to Break Down

Perhaps my favorite component of the Diggs Revol Dog Crate is the fact that I can break it down in seconds, using just one hand.

All you need to do is twist the lock at the top of the crate, push down in the middle, and fold in the sides. Voilà! Dog crate ready for travel.

The crate does sometimes get stuck on the sliding rails if it starts to go down at an angle. In this case, I just have to push down to make it even, or slide it back up to reset.

Rounded Corners

I don’t know about you, but I’ve stabbed myself plenty of times running into the sharp edges of my wire crate! The plastic rounded corners reduce the likelihood of crate-related bruises, especially great if you have kiddos running around the house.

Safety

The door lock is enclosed, which prevents clever dogs from being able to open the crate from the inside.

The wire mesh is designed to reduce paws from becoming stuck and to eliminate sharp corners.

Additionally, the ergonomic design is better for humans, because it makes carrying simple and comfortable compared to other crates.

Sitka loves lying on his Snooz Pad, an orthopedic dog bed that fits perfectly inside the Revol crate.

Add-on Products

Diggs sells a number of additional products to accompany the Revol Crate. I’ve tried a few and am very happy with them.

Snooz Crate Pad

The super luxurious orthopedic Snooz Crate Pad is made from a CertiPUR-US® memory foam that your dog will love. Available in small and medium, the sizes are made specifically to fit the crate of the same size.

The cover is velvety soft and fully removable. It can be tossed into the washing machine for cleaning and  is also water and tear resistant.

I love that the foam is made without formaldehyde, flame retardants, or other ozone depleters.

The Snooz Crate Pad is available in four different colors: Grey, blue, sand, and dark grey.

Groov Training Aid

The popsicle mold-shape Groov Training Aid is a unique tool designed to help dogs get used to their crate. It comes with a freezer mold so you can fill the grooves with your pup’s favorite treats.

The Groov attaches to the inside of the crate and stays in place. This way, your dog can lick the delicious treat off while hanging out inside the kennel. Made from all-natural rubber, the Groov is super durable and can hold up to tough chewers.

Revol Crate Cover

For dogs that prefer privacy or need to have views blocked to stay calm, the Revol Crate Covers will do just that.

The magnetic covers attach to each opening perfectly and can be adjusted to suit your dog’s preferences. They can be left on when you break down the crate.

Made from a stain-resistant and durable ballistic nylon, the covers won’t compromise the attractiveness of the crate.

Is the Diggs Revol Dog Crate Worth the Price?

At $245 and $325 for the small and medium crates, these babies ain’t cheap! But are they worth the price compared to the typical wire crate?

Here’s what I think.

The Diggs Revol Dog Crate is for you if you:

  • Value aesthetics in your home
  • Want a versatile crate that you can take with you when you travel
  • Appreciate high quality materials
  • You want to enjoy crate training your dog
  • Your dog hates their current crate

The Diggs Revol crate is absolutely worth the price if these are important factors to you.

Because it was so ugly, I covered Sitka’s old wire crate with a blanket and hid it away in a corner. It was also a hassle to bring along anywhere because it is not easy to transport, even though it breaks down flat.

I love this crate, which means that my dog also loves his crate. The materials and design are top notch and will last for many years.
